We briefly discussed the importance of every Christian having to make a decision to become a disciple, when Jesus called the twelve each of them had to make a decision, carry on doing what they were doing or follow Jesus, or we could say follow the way, Jesus said I am the Way, in it’s early days Christianity was called the way. Anyway, it’s up to each individual to come and follow Jesus or just join some church somewhere and do the Sunday please God trick.
Here we see seventy disciples Jesus sent out returning after a campaign:
Luke.10:17-20. (Amp) The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name! And He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning [flash] from heaven. Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven.
Jesus gave these people authority and power, authority and power go hand in hand you cannot exercise authority without the empowerment to do so. It’s like a company giving you authority to run the company but no empowerment to fire those who won’t do any work, or won’t even show up for work, that company is doomed to failure, it won’t last long.
1Cor.15:27. (Amp) For He [the Father] has put all things in subjection under His [Christ's] feet but when it says, All things are put in subjection [under Him], it is evident that He [Himself] is excepted Who does the subjecting of all things to Him.
We must understand that God’s ultimate purpose is world domination, the Kingdom of God being established in the earth, that is, God’s rule and reign over all things.
Eph.1:22-23. (Mess) He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything, at the centre of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.
At the moment we find that the Church is subject to, or is allowing the world to dictate the terms of the church in the earth, we have so called Christian organizations endeavouring to form one organization out of all the religions of the world in forming a one world church, well that is what those Christian organizations are, “organizations” they are not part of the Church of Jesus Christ. There is a religion that is called “Christianity” that grew out of “true Christianity” and now does not even believe in the virgin birth, or the born again experience, doesn’t believe in divine healing, doesn’t really believe anything that is in the Bible, their faith foundation is in what their denomination has as it’s belief. So, it is now time for the Church of Jesus to go forth with the authority and power invested in it to establish the Kingdom of God. By the way the word church simply means “the called out one’s”, called by God out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of the Son of His love.
Hebr.2:6-8. (Amp) It has been solemnly and earnestly said in a certain place, What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You graciously and helpfully care for and visit and look after him? For some little time You have ranked him lower than and inferior to the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honour and set him over the works of Your hands, for You have put everything in subjection under his feet. Now in putting everything in subjection to man, He left nothing outside [of man's] control. But at present we do not yet see all things subjected to him [man].
God put everything He created in subjection to His man, that did not include His throne room, once His man sinned the man became subject to God’s enemy, Satan. So not all things at this time are are still subject to man as a whole, but by the sacrifice of Jesus for the sin of mankind those who choose to accept Jesus as Lord are once again entrusted with the authority and power to rule, but only those born again, only Jesus’ disciples note, the following scripture:
Matt.28:18-25. (Amp) Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).
Jesus said that all authority and power in heave and earth has been given to Him, and right away He delegates the authority and power to His disciples by giving the commission of establishing the Kingdom in all the earth.
It is time once more to say “till next time.” Have a blessed day, share His love and spread His covenant message throughout all the earth and remember that Jesus is Lord.
If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and saviour then don’t delay, why stay out of the covenant’s of promise when you could make a quality decision right here and now to enter into covenant with Almighty God and get in on all that He has promised His covenant people by simply bowing your head and praying the following prayer:
“Father, it is written in Your Word that if I confess with my mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in my heart that You have raised Him from dead, I shall be saved. Therefore, Father, I confess that Jesus is my Lord. I make Him Lord of my life right now. I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead. I renounce my past life with Satan. “I thank You for forgiving me of all my sin. Jesus is now my Lord, and I am a new creation. Old things have passed away. Now all things become new in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
