Hi and welcome once again to “Abounding Grace”. We have been studying the established heart and have thus far discussed how every believer ought to be established in the three fold knowledge of what Christ is to us, what Christ has done for us and what Christ is doing for us now. We also discussed what the Word is to us. Let us now continue with what the name of Jesus means to us in our daily lives so that no matter what happens we are established in the fact that we are victors and more than conquerors.
John.16:24. (Amp) Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.
Jesus is discussing His going away and coming back again and He introduces a new spiritual law governing prayer, He says to the disciples “Up to now you have not asked anything in My name for I was with you and you asked me personally, but after I leave you must ask the Father in My name”. Jesus is now delegating the power of attorney to His disciples; He gives them the authority to use His Name.
He then further instructs them to ask, do not be afraid to ask, simply ask in faith and you will receive, asking is not limited to salvation, but to “whatever” “anything” and “all things”. If we follow protcol and ask in His name they will be given.
Mark.11:24. (Amp) For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].
John.14:13-14. (KJV) And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.
The reason for answering prayer is so that your joy may be full and complete; it is to help the child of God and to confirm the infinite Fatherhood of God.
Matt.7:11. (Amp) If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!
James.1:17. (Mess) Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle.
Child of God, don’t hesitate to ask any material, physical or spiritual blessing, any need for spirit, soul or body, for no good thing will He with hold from you. (In just sharing this with you a joy is rising up within me, God is so good).
Ps.34:9-10. (Amp) Fear the Lord, you His saints [revere and worship Him]! For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear. The young lions lack food and suffer hunger, but they who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing.
Ps.84:11. (Amp) For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favour and [future] glory (honour, splendour, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
Matt.21:22. (Amp) And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing you will receive.
This is truth that all of us need to be established in, so take time to meditate the scriptures above, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal them to your heart for they are mighty truths given to you from the heavenly Father, they need to be believed and acted on by the people of God. Thank you for joining me and I pray that you have a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Have a blessed day and don’t forget to share the Word and spread His love all around.
If you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life then my dear friend to-day is the day of salvation and all you have to do is bow your head and pray the following scriptural prayer from your heart and believe that you receive the promise of God that is being held out to you to-day and you will receive eternal life.
“Father, it is written in Your Word that if I confess with my mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in my heart that You have raised Him from dead, I shall be saved. Therefore, Father, I confess that Jesus is my Lord. I make Him Lord of my life right now. I believe in my heart that You raised Jesus from the dead. I renounce my past life with Satan. “I thank You for forgiving me of all my sin. Jesus is now my Lord, and I am a new creation. Old things have passed away. Now all things become new in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
If you have prayed the above prayer then go and study the Eternal Life document for a greater understanding of what you have been given by God your Father.
